eLearning & Paperwork

Access your eLearning at the SDI website or in the TDISDI app. Please complete all eLearning by Thursday, and no later than Friday, including Nitrox or Buoyancy if you’re adding those.

Your PandaDoc releases should already be completed and returned. If your medical form required a doctor’s sign‑off, please upload a scanned copy of the signed page or bring it with you.

Upload a head‑and‑shoulders photo to your SDI account ahead of time, or we can take one at the lake. You’ll use the SDI app to log your dives and access your certification cards after the weekend.

Weather

Check the weather for Terrell, TX before packing: Terrell, TX Weather.

Plan clothing accordingly—mornings can be cool, afternoons warm, and wind can vary. We do not cancel for rain; we’re going to get wet anyway. If lightning is in the area, we’ll pause until it passes. Texas weather can change quickly, and we’ll adjust as needed.

Packing & Preparation

Dive Gear: Bring your mask, fins, snorkel, and boots if purchased from OCD Divers. If renting or using a package, we will bring your gear. We bring BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, computers, and rented tanks.

Personal Items: Two towels, change of clothes, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, allergy meds, folding chair, and a gear cart if you have one.

Food & Drinks: Bring a cooler with water, coffee, soft drinks, snacks, and lunch. There is no time to leave the park on Saturday.

Clothing Tips: Travel in swimwear with shorts/sweats and a t‑shirt over it, and bring a light jacket or hoodie for cool mornings.

General Prep: Stay hydrated, eat a good breakfast, and continue your normal allergy or nasal spray routine to help with ear equalization.

Youth Divers

For youth divers, we ask that one parent or guardian stay on‑site during training and lake dives; if that parent brings additional children, they are welcome to stay at the pavilion. For example, if John’s dad brings John and his friend Dale (both taking the class), John’s dad simply stays on‑site while both boys train.

If any Scouting America youth are in the class, we will also cover the Scuba Merit Badge requirements during the Saturday morning segment, along with the Snorkeling skills needed for the Snorkeler certification.

Overnight Options

You may drive back and forth, stay in Terrell (10–15 minutes away), or stay at The Scuba Ranch. RV sites and a couple of small cabins are available, and tent camping at our pavilion is only $5 per person per night.

Final Notes

Tipping is standard in the dive industry. If you feel you received great service, $40–$60 per diver is typical and is shared among your lake pro team.

We’ll also have OCD Divers shirts, extra masks, paper dive logs, sunscreen, gloves, hoods, ear drops, and accessories available at the lake.
