Who We Are

OCD Divers is a modern scuba training center serving the Mid‑Cities, the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area, North Texas, West Texas, and divers who travel in from across the state. We combine online convenience with personal support, offering a streamlined experience for busy adults, youth divers, and families training together.

Our facility has been recognized as one of SDI’s Top Performing Facilities in both 2024 and 2025. Since 2009, we have focused on safe, standards‑driven, student‑centered instruction that prepares divers for lifelong adventure. Our approach is built on clarity, transparency, and convenience — with real‑time online inventory, flexible scheduling, and a weekender certification model designed for modern families.

We welcome divers from every background, culture, and family structure. Whether you’re training on your own or alongside parents, siblings, or chosen family, you’ll find a respectful, supportive environment where everyone is treated with dignity and encouraged to grow at their own pace.

How We Operate

OCD Divers follows the same basic training pattern used by major dive shops across DFW and Texas: we train at established lakes and partner pools for confined and open water dives. The difference is not where we train — it’s how easy we make the process for busy families and working adults.

You can sign up online, by phone, or in person. Required forms and eLearning are delivered digitally, and for most programs we bring the gear you need directly to the pool or lake. Our goal is to remove unnecessary friction so you can focus on learning, not logistics.

Many of the families we serve are juggling school, sports, Scouting America, church, and work. We design our programs around that reality. When possible, we offer private and semi‑private options, additional weekends, and custom schedules that still meet training standards.

We also recognize that many households are bilingual or multicultural. Some family members are more comfortable in Spanish, others in English. Some of our instructors and staff are bilingual, including a native Spanish speaker, which allows us to teach in English, Spanish, or a mix of both when appropriate.

Underneath all of this is a simple philosophy: the answer is yes. We talk with you about your goals, your schedule, your language, and your family’s needs, and then we figure out how to make scuba work within the standards in a way that works for your life.

Youth & Family Programs

OCD Divers has supported youth and family scuba programs since 2009. We work with Scouting America Troops, Sea Scout Ships, Venturing Crews, Explorer Posts, Girl Scouts USA, Trail Life USA, American Heritage Girls, and other youth organizations — always with a focus on safety, clarity, and family involvement.

We strongly encourage parents and certified adult divers to participate alongside youth divers. Many families choose to certify together, or parents join as refreshers while their kids complete a full course. Training together builds confidence, communication, and shared memories that last long after the certification card arrives.

Where We Train

Pool‑Only Programs: Snorkeler, Future Buddies, Scuba Discovery, refreshers, referral versions of Open Water, private pool‑only sessions, and Advanced Buoyancy (offered in the pool or at our lake sites depending on season and class format).

Full Open Water Certifications: These programs are completed entirely on‑site in a single weekend — no commuting between facilities.

May through October — The Scuba Ranch: Most divers join our group classes at The Scuba Ranch, which offers an on‑site pool, pavilion space, and varied dive environments. Our Weekender format is predictable, efficient, and ideal for families and working adults.

Need a different schedule? That’s where private and semi‑private classes shine. They allow for custom pacing, additional weekends, and group‑friendly pricing that becomes more cost‑effective as the group size increases.

November through April — Balmorhea State Park: During the cooler months, we run many of our programs at Balmorhea State Park, where spring‑fed water stays warm and clear year‑round. Families often turn these weekends into simple, memorable trips, with certified youth, parents, and siblings able to rent gear for fun dives after training is complete.

Regardless of location, our focus is the same: clear expectations, careful planning, and a safe, supportive environment for every diver.

Gear, Service & Air Systems

OCD Divers offers gear sales, rentals, equipment servicing, and on‑site air support. We maintain one of the largest in‑stock selections of essential diving gear in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

We keep more than two hundred masks, one hundred and thirty fins, and more than one hundred boots in stock — along with over one hundred wetsuits in multiple styles and sizes. This level of availability allows divers to find the right fit without waiting for orders.

Our online inventory reflects the gear physically on our shelves and ready for immediate pickup or delivery to class. Explore gear and gift certificates or view personal gear package options through our Open Water Diver Add‑On Options.

We operate a full industrial scuba compressor and air management system that ensures clean and reliable fills for every dive.

Dive Travel & Community

Beyond certification, OCD Divers offers local and destination dive trips that build skills, confidence, and community. Whether you are exploring Texas lakes or joining us in the Caribbean, our trips are designed to be safe, enjoyable, and stress‑free.

New divers appreciate the chance to travel with familiar instructors and classmates, while experienced divers enjoy structured opportunities to keep their skills sharp. Our goal is to create trips where families, friends, and individual divers feel supported both in and out of the water.
