OCD Divers is a modern clicks-and-mortar dive shop and training center located in the Harwood Village Shopping Center on the southwest corner of Highway 121 and Harwood Rd in Bedford, Texas. OCD Divers is proud to be a Five Star Instructor Development Center for SDI and the Southwest US Instructor Development Center for PSS. Our new retail store at 3342 Harwood Rd, Bedford TX 76021 provides in-stock gear, hands-on support, and a welcoming space for families and new divers. We have been operating since 2009 and expanded into our Bedford location to better serve the Mid-Cities, the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area, and divers who travel in from across Texas. You can find us easily on Google Maps.
We combine the convenience of online booking, real-time inventory, and detailed course information with the personal support of a full retail dive shop. This blended approach—our clicks-and-mortar model—allows divers to sign up online, call us, or stop by the store, whichever works best for their schedule.
Our facility has been recognized as one of SDI’s Top Performing Facilities in both 2024 and 2025. Since 2009, our focus has been safety, standards-driven instruction, and a student-centered approach that prepares divers for lifelong adventure. We serve a diverse community of divers and families and are committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, and judgment-free environment where everyone is treated with dignity.
Scuba is a buddy sport, built on trust, communication, and looking out for one another. What matters underwater isn’t someone’s politics, background, or identity—it’s the shared commitment to safety and support. We train and dive with a culture of respect, patience, and encouragement so every diver feels welcome, valued, and confident from the very first day.
We are especially known for our work with Scouting America units and youth organizations, and for creating training paths where entire families can learn and dive together.
How We Operate
OCD Divers operates as a true clicks-and-mortar dive shop. Our retail location provides in-person support, gear fitting, and community, while our online platform offers clear pricing, real-time inventory, detailed course descriptions, and easy scheduling. Roughly half of our class sign-ups come directly from the website, and the rest come from families who call or stop by the store. You can begin your training however you prefer—online, by phone, or in person.
Our approach is built on obsessive clarity—every course, schedule, and requirement is explained in detail online so families can plan with confidence, whether they prefer to sign up digitally, by phone, or in person at our Bedford store.
We follow the same training standards used by major dive shops across Texas, but we remove the friction that makes scuba difficult for busy adults and youth divers. For most programs, we bring the gear you need directly to the pool or lake, and our weekender certification model keeps training predictable and efficient. This modern approach allows families to complete their full certification in a single weekend without juggling multiple locations.
Many of the families we serve are balancing school, sports, Scouting America, church, and work. We design our programs around that reality. When needed, we offer private and semi-private options, additional weekends, and custom schedules that still meet all training standards.
We also support bilingual and multicultural households. Some of our instructors and staff are bilingual, including a native Spanish-speaking instructor, Sr. Flores, who provides clear, patient, and culturally respectful training. Classes can be taught in English, Spanish, or a blended approach—lo que funcione mejor para tu familia. This blended-language approach allows bilingual families—especially those where parents prefer Spanish and kids prefer English—to learn together comfortably and confidently. Families who prefer Spanish-language instruction can learn more on our Clases de Buceo en Español page.
Underneath all of this is a simple philosophy: the answer is yes. We talk with you about your goals, your schedule, your language, and your family’s needs—and then we figure out how to make scuba work within the standards in a way that fits your life.
Youth & Family Programs
OCD Divers has supported youth and family scuba programs since 2009. We work with Scouting America Troops, Sea Scout Ships, Venturing Crews, Explorer Posts, Girl Scouts USA, Trail Life USA, American Heritage Girls, and other youth organizations — always with a focus on safety, clarity, and family involvement.
We strongly encourage parents and certified adult divers to participate alongside youth divers. Many families choose to certify together, or parents join as refreshers while their kids complete a full course. Training together builds confidence, communication, and shared memories that last long after the certification card arrives.

Where We Train
Pool‑Only Programs: Snorkeler, Future Buddies, Scuba Discovery, refreshers, referral versions of Open Water, private pool‑only sessions, and Advanced Buoyancy (offered in the pool or at our lake sites depending on season and class format).
Full Open Water Certifications: These programs are completed entirely on‑site in a single weekend — no commuting between facilities.
May through October — The Scuba Ranch: Most divers join our group classes at The Scuba Ranch, which offers an on‑site pool, pavilion space, and varied dive environments. Our Weekender format is predictable, efficient, and ideal for families and working adults.
Need a different schedule? That’s where private and semi‑private classes shine. They allow for custom pacing, additional weekends, and group‑friendly pricing that becomes more cost‑effective as the group size increases.
November through April — Balmorhea State Park: During the cooler months, we run many of our programs at Balmorhea State Park, where spring‑fed water stays warm and clear year‑round. Families often turn these weekends into simple, memorable trips, with certified youth, parents, and siblings able to rent gear for fun dives after training is complete.
Regardless of location, our focus is the same: clear expectations, careful planning, and a safe, supportive environment for every diver.
Gear, Service & Air Systems
OCD Divers offers gear sales, rentals, equipment servicing, and on‑site air support. We maintain one of the largest in‑stock selections of essential diving gear in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
We maintain inventory of hundreds of the basics, masks, snorkels, and boots, and wetsuits from XXS to XXXL shorties, 3mm, 5mm, and 7mm styles. This level of availability allows divers to find the right fit without waiting for orders. We stock regulators, computers, BCDs, lights, DPVs, and all sorts of accessories. Stop by to gear-up!
Our online inventory reflects the gear physically on our shelves and ready for immediate pickup or delivery to class. Explore gear and gift certificates or view personal gear package options through our Open Water Diver Add‑On Options.
We operate a full industrial scuba compressor and air management system that ensures clean and reliable fills for every dive.
Dive Travel & Community
Beyond certification, OCD Divers offers local and destination dive trips that build skills, confidence, and community. Whether you are exploring Texas lakes or joining us in the Caribbean, our trips are designed to be safe, enjoyable, and stress‑free.
New divers appreciate the chance to travel with familiar instructors and classmates, while experienced divers enjoy structured opportunities to keep their skills sharp. Our goal is to create trips where families, friends, and individual divers feel supported both in and out of the water.
