What You’ll Learn

This course follows SDI standards and covers the essential skills and knowledge needed to run a fill station safely:

  • Compressor operation: Understanding compressor components, air pathways, filtration systems, and moisture control
  • Fill station safety: Proper handling of high‑pressure cylinders, safe fill rates, and emergency procedures
  • Gas quality: Air purity standards, filtration maintenance, and contamination prevention
  • Cylinder compatibility: Working with steel, aluminum, and composite cylinders and understanding service pressures
  • Valves and connections: DIN and yoke systems, O‑rings, and proper attachment techniques
  • Recordkeeping: Logging fills, tracking maintenance, and documenting compressor service
  • Hazard recognition: Identifying unsafe cylinders, overheating risks, and equipment malfunctions
