The Emergency Oxygen Provider Course at OCD Divers is a non‑diving program that teaches you how to recognize diving‑related injuries and safely administer emergency oxygen to breathing or non‑breathing individuals. This course follows internationally recognized standards and is OSHA and ILCOR compliant. Training includes hands‑on practice with oxygen units, delivery systems, and real‑world scenarios.
What You’ll Learn
This course follows First Response Training International standards and covers essential oxygen administration skills:
- When to use emergency oxygen: Recognizing symptoms of decompression illness and other dive‑related injuries.
- Oxygen delivery systems: Non‑rebreather masks, demand valves, and nasal cannulas.
- Safe handling procedures: Proper setup, operation, and shutdown of oxygen units.
- Scene assessment: How to evaluate an emergency and determine the correct response.
- EMS activation: When and how to alert emergency medical services.
- Care for breathing and non‑breathing victims: Oxygen delivery techniques for both situations.
Program Overview
This course includes academic training followed by hands‑on skills practice in a classroom setting. Students will learn how to assemble oxygen units, select the correct delivery device, and administer oxygen safely and effectively. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certification recognized for diving, workplace, and community emergency response needs.

Where Training Takes Place
This non‑diving specialty is taught at OCD Divers in Colleyville or at lake locations when scheduled in conjunction with Rescue Diver classes. All classroom materials and oxygen equipment are provided for hands‑on learning.

No personal equipment is required for this course. All oxygen units, delivery devices, and training supplies are provided by OCD Divers.
