The SDI Night and Limited Visibility Diver Course at OCD Divers teaches divers how to safely and confidently navigate, communicate, and maintain awareness when visual references are reduced. This specialty builds comfort and precision in environments that challenge even experienced divers. Training is conducted at The Scuba Ranch and local sites depending on conditions.

What You’ll Learn

This course focuses on developing strong night diving and low visibility skills through hands‑on practice and instructor coaching:

Program Overview

The Night and Limited Visibility Diver Course is ideal for divers who want to expand their comfort zone and improve their situational awareness. These skills are valuable for many advanced specialties and real‑world diving scenarios.

Prerequisites: SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent. Minimum age 18, or 15 with parental consent.

Equipment needed: A complete scuba kit plus a primary light, backup light, and tank light. Exposure protection appropriate for conditions is required. Additional gear may be recommended based on dive location and visibility.

Where Training Takes Place

Training sessions are held at The Scuba Ranch and other local sites depending on scheduling and course goals. These environments provide realistic conditions for night and limited visibility skill development.

Required Gear

Divers must have a complete scuba kit including mask, snorkel, fins, boots, BCD, regulator set, gauges or computer, exposure protection appropriate for conditions, surface signaling devices, and a cutting tool. A primary light, backup light, and tank light are required for this course.
