Our in‑house Avelo rental units allow divers to see, handle, and dive the full system before committing to certification or gear.

We support complete Avelo System configurations centered on the Hydrotank, Avelo battery, DIN regulator, and Shearwater Jetpack–integrated dive computers. This combination gives divers streamlined equipment, reduced drag, and clear, real‑time awareness of their dive while experiencing Avelo’s water‑based buoyancy.

The Avelo Essentials certification is the official entry point into Avelo diving. OCD Divers offers structured Avelo training in DFW, including eLearning, classroom orientation, confined‑water Hydrotank skills, and open‑water Avelo dives that let divers feel the difference of water‑based buoyancy in real conditions.

Avelo training takes place at two of Texas’s best diving locations, depending on the season. From May through October, we conduct Avelo Essentials dives at The Scuba Ranch in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. During the cooler months of November through April, training shifts to Balmorhea State Park in West Texas—one of the clearest freshwater environments in the state.

Certified Avelo divers can rent complete Avelo systems through OCD Divers when units are not in use for training. Our rental fleet is maintained in-house and includes Hydrotank units paired with Shearwater Jetpack–integrated dive computers.

Unfortunately, no. Avelo certification is required to use the system.

What’s included in an Avelo rental?
Delivered to the lake for you for either a morning or afternoon rental: Hydrotank, DIN regulator, Avelo battery, and a Shearwater Jetpack–integrated dive computer.

Can I use my own regulator or dive computer?
Avelo requires specific integration, and most traditional regulators and computers are not designed for the Hydrotank workflow. OCD Divers provides the correct DIN regulator and Shearwater Jetpack–integrated computer with every rental and during all Avelo Essentials training.

Where is Avelo training conducted?
OCD Divers provides Avelo Essentials training at The Scuba Ranch in DFW (May–October) and Balmorhea State Park in West Texas (November–April).
