Built around human‑centered design and water‑based buoyancy, Avelo reduces task load and supports natural movement so your attention stays on the environment and your skill development. What You’ll Learn
The Avelo Essentials course introduces certified divers to the Avelo System through individualized, performance‑based training. You will experience stable buoyancy, natural movement, and real‑time awareness that reduces task load and enhances safety.
- Stable water‑based buoyancy: Experience buoyancy that does not change with depth.
- Natural movement: Streamlined, low‑drag configuration that feels fluid and intuitive.
- Real‑time awareness: Avelo Mode provides in‑dive feedback without distraction.
- Skill development: Controlled ascents/descents, hover, swimming control, and buddy communication.
- Problem response: Practice simulated scenarios including water leak, running pump, and out‑of‑gas.
Program Overview
The Avelo Essentials course is for certified divers (ISO‑II equivalent or higher) who want to add the Avelo System to their existing certification. Training includes online learning followed by two in‑water dives with a certified Avelo instructor.
Prerequisites: Certified diver, logged dive within 12 months or recent refresher.
Minimum age: 13 years old.
Included: Online learning, instructor support, and full Avelo System rental.
Depth limit: Maximum depth 18 m (60 ft). All training occurs during daylight hours.
Where Training Takes Place
Training takes place at The Scuba Ranch. The Hydrotank, Shearwater Jetpack and computer and DIN regulator.

What Comes Next
After completing Avelo Essentials, divers may continue with Avelo Pro training or explore additional specialties such as Advanced Buoyancy Diver or Enriched Air Nitrox.
