Future Buddies Try Scuba in the Pool for Ages 8-9
The SDI Future Buddies Program at OCD Divers introduces young divers to the underwater world in a safe, fun, and age-appropriate environment. This program teaches basic scuba concepts, equipment familiarity, and underwater comfort skills while emphasizing safety and teamwork. Training is conducted in our heated Colleyville pool.

What Kids Will Learn
The Future Buddies Program focuses on building confidence and comfort in the water through simple, engaging activities:
- Basic scuba concepts: Breathing underwater, equalization, and understanding pressure.
- Equipment introduction: How masks, fins, snorkels, and scuba gear work.
- Underwater comfort: Moving, floating, and communicating underwater.
- Buddy skills: Staying close, communicating clearly, and helping each other.
- Safety awareness: Listening to instructors, staying within limits, and using good judgment.
Program Overview
Future Buddies is a non-certification experience designed to help children build confidence in the water and prepare for future scuba training. It is an excellent introduction for families who want their kids to explore scuba in a safe, structured setting.
Prerequisites: Basic swimming ability.
Minimum age: 8 years old with parental consent.
Equipment needed: All scuba gear is provided for use during the program. Personal gear (mask, snorkel, boots, fins) is available for purchase if desired.
Where Training Takes Place
All Future Buddies sessions are held in our heated Colleyville pool, providing a controlled and comfortable environment ideal for young divers.
What Comes Next
After completing the Future Buddies Program, young divers can continue their underwater journey with the SDI Snorkeler Diver Course or progress toward junior scuba programs when they reach the appropriate age.
