The Search and Recovery Diver course teaches you how to locate and recover lost objects using systematic search patterns, lift bags, reels, and controlled ascent techniques. You will build confidence, precision, and teamwork in realistic underwater scenarios.

• Planning and executing realistic recovery scenarios

This specialty includes eLearning, instructor‑led review, and open water training dives focused on search patterns, lift bag use, and recovery techniques. You will learn how to evaluate conditions, plan effective searches, and safely bring objects to the surface.

Prerequisites: SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent; minimum age 18 (or 15 with parental consent).

Required gear: Full scuba kit including exposure protection, cutting tool, surface signaling devices, and a dive computer or gauges. OCD Divers provides lift bag, reels, and lines for training, though divers are encouraged to purchase their own lift bag.
