What You’ll Learn
This course is built around precision—fine‑tuning buoyancy, trim, and movement until everything feels effortless and controlled.
- Perfecting trim and body position: Achieve a stable, streamlined posture underwater.
- Buoyancy control techniques: Hovering, fine‑tuning weighting, and controlled ascents and descents.
- Breathing efficiency: Improve air consumption through proper breathing and movement.
- Finning techniques: Frog kick, modified flutter, helicopter turns, and back kick.
- Environmental awareness: Avoiding contact with the bottom and protecting aquatic life.
Program Overview
The Advanced Buoyancy Diver Course is one of the most valuable continuing education programs for divers at any level. Whether you’re newly certified or preparing for advanced training, this course builds confidence, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
Prerequisites: Open Water Diver certification from SDI, PADI, SSI, NAUI, PSS, or any other internationally recognized training agency.
Minimum age: 18, or 10 years old with parental consent.
Equipment needed: Standard personal gear and scuba gear. We provide free rental gear for pool sessions in Colleyville. For lake courses, there is no additional charge to use gear already rented for another class. If this is your only course, please see our continuing education gear page to review options.
Where Training Takes Place
Training sessions are held in our heated Colleyville pool or at local lake sites, depending on scheduling and course goals. Both environments provide excellent opportunities to practice buoyancy skills in real‑world conditions.
