Whether you are brand new to underwater photography or looking to improve your technique, this course helps you understand camera settings, lighting, composition, and how to get the most out of your equipment. You may bring your own camera system or use one of OCD Divers’ cameras during training.

Program Overview

The Digital Underwater Photography Course is ideal for divers who want to document their dives, improve their creative skills, or prepare for travel and advanced imaging. Training includes classroom instruction and optional open water photo dives at The Scuba Ranch, Balmorhea State Park, or during OCD Divers trips depending on conditions.

Prerequisites: SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent.

Minimum age: 18, or 10 with parental consent.

Equipment needed: A digital underwater camera system. Divers may bring their own camera or use OCD Divers’ cameras. A complete scuba kit appropriate for the dive site is required for optional photo dives.
