Adult, Child, & Infant Emergency Care
The Adult, Child & Infant Emergency Care Course at OCD Divers is a hands‑on CPR, AED, and First Aid certification open to the general public. This OSHA‑compliant, ILCOR‑aligned program teaches you how to recognize emergencies, respond confidently, and provide life‑saving care for adults, children, and infants. Certification is accepted for workplace requirements, childcare providers, teachers, coaches, fitness professionals, babysitters, and community responders. Divers also use this course to meet the emergency care requirement for SDI Rescue Diver.
Training is offered at the shop, with optional lake‑side sessions when paired with Rescue Diver classes.

What You’ll Learn
This course follows First Response Training International standards and covers essential emergency care skills for all age groups.
- CPR techniques: One-person CPR for adults, children, and infants
- AED operation: Safe and effective use of automated external defibrillators
- First aid skills: Managing injuries, workplace incidents, and serious emergencies
- Emergency recognition: Evaluating a victim and determining the correct response
- EMS activation: When and how to alert emergency medical services
- Scene safety: Protecting yourself and others during an emergency
Program Overview
This non-diving specialty includes academic training and hands-on skills practice in a classroom setting. Students learn CPR, AED use, and first aid techniques through instructor-led demonstrations and scenario-based practice. Certification is recognized for workplace, community, and diving-related requirements.
Prerequisites: Minimum age 18, or 10 with parental consent.
Required gear: No personal equipment is required. All CPR manikins, AED trainers, and first aid supplies are provided.
