Rescue Diver Certification
The SDI Rescue Diver Course at OCD Divers builds your ability to prevent and manage diving emergencies. You will learn to recognize stress, assist divers in need, respond to surface and underwater incidents, and coordinate rescue scenarios. This course strengthens confidence, awareness, and problem‑solving skills that benefit every diver.

What You’ll Learn
The Rescue Diver Course teaches you to prevent, recognize, and respond to diving emergencies in realistic conditions. You will develop strong situational awareness, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to assist divers in distress.
- Recognizing and managing diver stress
- Assisting tired, panicked, or unresponsive divers
- Surface rescue techniques and in‑water response
- Missing diver procedures and search patterns
- Scene management and emergency planning
- Realistic rescue scenarios in open water
Program Overview
Training includes independent eLearning, classroom review, and open water rescue scenarios designed to build confidence and real‑world capability.
Prerequisites: Minimum age 12; SDI Advanced Adventure Diver or 15 logged dives; current CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Provider certifications.
Required gear: Full scuba kit including mask, snorkel, fins, boots, BCD, regulator set, gauges or computer, exposure protection, surface signaling devices, cutting tool, and a rescue training kit. Additional equipment may be recommended during training.
