TDI Nitrox Diver
The TDI Nitrox Diver Course at OCD Divers is the essential first step into enriched air diving. Nitrox allows for longer no‑decompression limits, reduced nitrogen loading, and more efficient dive planning—making it one of the most valuable certifications a diver can earn. This course teaches you how to analyze nitrox mixtures, calculate oxygen exposure limits, determine maximum operating depths, and plan nitrox dives with confidence and precision.
This specialty is taught entirely at OCD Divers in Colleyville.

TDI NITROX DIVER
What You’ll Learn
This course follows TDI standards and covers the essential knowledge and skills for nitrox diving:
- Benefits of nitrox: Extended no‑decompression limits and reduced nitrogen absorption.
- Hazards of nitrox: Oxygen exposure, CNS toxicity, and maximum operating depth (MOD).
- Gas analysis: Proper use of an oxygen analyzer and accurate logging procedures.
- Cylinder labeling: Marking and identifying nitrox cylinders correctly.
- Gas laws and physiology: Partial pressures, oxygen limits, and EAD calculations.
- Dive planning: Using nitrox tables and computers for safe depth and exposure management.
Program Overview
Training includes academic development and hands‑on nitrox analysis practice. While dives are recommended, they are not required for certification. Students will learn to analyze nitrox mixtures, calculate MOD and oxygen exposure limits, and plan nitrox dives using tables or computers.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum age 18, or 15 with parental consent
- SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent
Where Training Takes Place
This specialty is taught entirely at OCD Divers in Colleyville. Additional hands‑on sessions may be scheduled depending on class size and student needs.
