Deep Diver Certification
The SDI Deep Diver Course at OCD Divers prepares you to safely plan and conduct dives beyond 60 feet. You will learn how depth affects gas consumption, buoyancy, narcosis, and equipment performance while practicing controlled descents, ascents, and emergency procedures. This course builds confidence and expands your ability to explore deeper dive sites safely and responsibly.

What You’ll Learn
- Deep dive planning: Gas management, turn pressures, and contingency planning.
- Buoyancy and trim at depth: Managing compression and weighting changes.
- Narcosis awareness: Recognizing and responding to cognitive changes.
- Emergency procedures: Out‑of‑air response, SMB deployment, and controlled ascents.
- Environmental considerations: Temperature, visibility, and depth‑related hazards.
Program Overview
Deep Diver includes classroom review, skills practice, and two open‑water deep dives. You will learn how to evaluate dive sites, plan safe depth limits, and execute dives with precision and control. This course is ideal for divers preparing for advanced environments, travel diving, or the SDI Master Diver pathway.
Prerequisites: SDI Advanced Adventure Diver or equivalent.
Minimum age: 18, or 15 with parental consent.
Equipment needed: Full scuba kit suitable for deeper environments, including lights, SMB, spool, cutting tool, and a dive computer capable of deep profiles.
Where Training Takes Place
Training is conducted at local deep‑water lake sites that provide realistic conditions for deep diving, including reduced visibility, thermoclines, and depth‑related buoyancy changes.
