SDI Snorkeler Diver Course in Colleyville, Texas

The SDI Snorkeler Diver Course at OCD Divers teaches you how to snorkel safely and confidently in pool or open water. You’ll learn proper snorkeling techniques, equipment use, and safety practices so you can enjoy snorkeling without the direct supervision of an instructor in conditions similar to your training.

What You’ll Learn

This entry level snorkeling course covers the core skills and knowledge needed for safe snorkeling:

• Snorkeling basics: How to use a mask, fins, and snorkel for relaxed surface swimming.
• Breathing & clearing: Proper snorkel breathing, snorkel clearing techniques, and surface dives.
• Buoyancy & comfort: Using exposure protection and buoyancy aids to stay comfortable and relaxed.
• Water environment: How waves, currents, and marine life can affect your snorkeling experience.
• Buddy skills & safety: Buddy system, basic signals, and good judgment while snorkeling.

Course Location

Training is conducted at our OCD Divers pool in Colleyville and, when appropriate, at a local lake to simulate real world snorkeling conditions.

Prerequisites: Basic swimming ability.

Minimum age: 18, or at least four years old with parental consent.

Equipment needed: We provide gear for use during the class and offer snorkeling gear for purchase if you want to own your own mask, snorkel, boots, and fins.
