We typically use The Scuba Ranch from May–October and Balmorhea State Park from November–April for Open Water Weekender training weekends.

How many times do I need to come to the shop to get started on a weekend Open Water course?
Most Dallas divers never need to visit the shop before class. Sign up online, complete everything digitally, and arrive ready to dive. If you prefer to see gear in person, you can make one optional visit to our Bedford retail store at 3342 Harwood Rd, Bedford TX 76021.

Can I complete all training locally?
Yes. All required pool work and open water dives can be completed at The Scuba Ranch (May–October) or Balmorhea State Park (November–April). Both locations have on‑site facilities so your confined‑water and open‑water training happen at the same site during your weekend.

How long does scuba certification take?
Most students complete about eight hours of eLearning at home, followed by one organized weekend of in‑person training through the Open Water Weekender program.

What age can kids start scuba?
Certification options begin at age ten. Divers ages 10–11 are usually best served through our Private Open Water option for a slower pace and additional instructor attention. Divers ages 12 and up can typically join the standard Weekender Open Water Diver course.

Do you offer Spanish or bilingual classes?

Do you offer Nitrox online?
Yes. Our Computer Nitrox Diver course uses online eLearning and live Zoom sessions, so Dallas divers can complete Nitrox training from home and then use Nitrox on future trips.

Are SDI and PSS the same as PADI?
Yes. SDI, PSS, PADI, SSI, NAUI, and other major agencies all follow the same international RSTC standards. Skills, safety requirements, and certification outcomes are equivalent, and your certification is accepted worldwide at dive shops, resorts, and training centers.
